Chapter 3.2 - Surprise!

Hello all, and welcome back to the McKracken family.

A heads up before the chapter starts, I've not mentioned it before, but I've got a new job! Not the one I was originally applying for, but a different one. It's a more stable job this time round, with regular shifts, so there shouldn't be any change to my already erratic uploading schedule >_> If there is, I'll be sure to mention it.

Anyways, as of right now, all the Generation Four children are teenagers, and I got the rolls for the generation. They are so much simpler than the Generation Three rolls. The sight of them doesn't make me want to curl up and cry.

I have also chosen the next generation heir. It was a hard choice, as I had to choose between two very strong contenders. I won't give anything away, and I will try to be as unbiased as I can until the heir is revealed.

With all that out the way, let's move onto the chapter!

Last time, Damien and Vincent took over the legacy as co-heirs, and Damien met an interesting young woman called Candace Barker. After meeting up a few time (aka twice), Damien had his first kiss with her in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.

Candace ended up staying the night, and the regular ghostly visits proved to be a surprise to her.

Candace: I know you mentioned that you have ghosts, but I didn't think that it was this bad...

Damien: Yeah, sorry about that. They normally possess the furniture downstairs... Also my foot has merged with the bedside table. I may need help.

It's no surprise that Candace has moved into the house. She was a homeless Sim that had an unfortunate case of Vanilla Face, so here she is after I "saved" her. I tried to make her look different from all the other Sims I've ever made, just so I could get some interesting looking offspring. Her traits are: Excitable, Genius, Green Thumb, Snob, and Unlucky. She likes hamburgers, the colour lilac, and listening to Indie music. She's a Taurus who wants to be a Creature/Robot Cross Breeder.

Same as Damien's father.

The other person to move into the family is Mortimer Goth, Vincent's childhood friend turned boyfriend. They also had their first kiss in the middle of a zombie apocalypse... Mortimer's traits are: Artistic, Ambitious, Grumpy, Heavy Sleeper, and Kleptomaniac. He likes classical music, eating french toast, and the colour black. His star sign is Aries, and he wants to be a Master Thief.

Perfect.

Vincent: Nice hairdo. How much hair gel did you need to use to make you look like a a grown man playing a teenager in an 70's film set in the 50's?

Damien: At least I didn't have to shave mine off. Mind you, I'd shave it off anyway if I had your mullet.

Vincent: :(

Savage.

Look who's pregnant with Generation Four!

I also love how Damien is going to become a father, and all he is dreaming about is fishing.

The two "extras" in the family had time to themselves as Damien and Vincent were out working.

Candace insisted on raking up the leaves in the garden, in her nightgown.

Leaves that were falling even though it was SPRING.

Whilst Vincent worked on his Athletic skill for his career.

Well, tried to anyway.

Because there Generation Four was on the way, Damien and Candace had a quick shot gun wedding to make their offspring official. That, and the children take the mother's surname, and I didn't want to bother with the hassle of changing names in the future.

Mortimer: Hmmm... Marriage... That sounds like a good idea.

As Mortimer headed downstairs to propose to Vincent, Vincent had already beaten him to the punch. Or the ring, in this case.

He bought the ring on his way home from work, and didn't even bother changing into some formal clothes.

Mortimer still said yes.

Damien: Holy crap I'm going to be a father.

Candace: Aye, and I think I'm having twins. Would explain how big I've been getting.

The night before the wedding, Vincent rolled this wish.

THAT'S YOUR COUSIN.

AND YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED SOON.

To your fiance, not your cousin >_>

Picking a day when it wasn't raining, Vincent and Mortimer had an outdoor wedding. The guest list included everyone from the previous generation, along with a few friends and family who gatecrashed.

Martha, now an elder, showed up in her outer wear. I didn't get round to changing her in CAS, but now I wish I had D:

Martha, I'm so sorry!

She's also glowing red because she is the Emperor of Evil. Not because she has suddenly turned into a fairy, as I had feared.

The wedding was a simple affair, with everyone enjoying themselves. Claire Ursine wept for joy at the sight of the two lovebirds, whilst Martha threw confetti onto her son and new son-in-law. She claimed that she wasn't aiming for their faces.

She lied.

Claire: Oh, I don't feel too good...

Vita: Come now, Claire, surely you're not too bad.

Agnes: Umm...

Cornelia: I swear to God, if you die now at my son's wedding...

Claire: Huh.

Vita: ... I stand corrected.

Agnes: Oh God!

Cornelia: You just had to die right now, didn't you?

The mood of the wedding rapidly dropped as the Grim Reaper appeared to take Claire away, with everyone crying.

Everyone except for Martha.

Because of course...

As if there wasn't enough excitement going on, Candace went into labour shortly afterwards.

Ah, a basket. So she did have twins after all, and Damien didn't show up at the hospital so she has to carry them home by herself, right :)

Wrong.

She had triplets.

Whoops.

Mother of the Year award, right there. Leaving your newborn children in the snow, when it shouldn't even be snowing because it's nearly SUMMER.

Moving on, let's meet the triplets!

Robin McKracken, the youngest of the triplets, was born with the Loner and Disciplined traits. His favourites are: indie, salmon, and purple.

In the blue cot is Lucas McKracken, the eldest of the triplets. His traits are Loves The Cold and Slob. His favourites are: kids, falafel, and blue.

Finally there's Judith McKracken, the middle triplet and only girl. She loves the outdoors and is excitable. Her favourites are: pop, pancakes, and red.

All the triplets have the same star sign: Aries. It always annoys me when twins or triplets have different star signs to each other, so I deliberately made a note to change them all to Aries when I could.

Candace: I have an idea: let's never do that again.

I agree. And I've still got one more child to fit in D:

I downloaded this hair from Mod the Sims after Candace had moved in, and I wish I had downloaded it before because she looks gorgeous.

Candace: Oh, Robin, my youngest. I reckon you are going to grow up to be just like your father.

Candace: Judith, my little arsekicker. You are going to do great things when you get older.

Damien: I made this :O

Damien still seems surprised that he is now a father of three.

As am I.

I normally like to end chapters on either a ghost photo or a glitch, but this time I'll end it on this cute photo of Damien and Candace.

Damien: Sorry, I think my hand is lost in your hair.

----

Another chapter comes to a close, and things are picking up! I didn't intend for Candace to have triplets. The plan was for her to have twins, then for Vincent and Mortimer to adopt, and then Candace to have a third child. Or for her to have three separate births in between Vincent and Mortimer adopting.

I guess she had other plans.

As I said before, I've got the rolls for the generation. They are so much easier than this generations rolls.

Next chapter will be toddler spam, sorry D:

See you next time!

Chapter 3.1 - A New(ish) Beginning

Hello again, and welcome to Generation Three! Holy crap, I actually made it.

Normally by this time, my game has curled in on itself and died, or something else happens that results in my having to abandon the legacy.

Not this time.

I hope.

Before I move onto the chapter proper, time for a quick recap of previous generation:

Peony McKracken was chosen as the heiress for the second generation over her younger sister, Martha. Ever the wannabe princess, she held herself with the elegance and poise that a royal should have, even when it came to doing tasks such as repairing a dishwasher. She developed a love for adventure as a teenager, and set about devoting her life to exploring tombs and gaining a level three visa in China, Egypt, and France.

She met and fell in love with a Frenchman Eugene Lefeure, later marrying him and having two children. As she reached her adulthood, my game crashed she realised that her true calling lay in following in the footsteps of her beloved Papa, Bai. She got far in her endeavour... Only for her to freeze to death when using an outdoors sprinkler on an autumn day.

A sudden and tragic end for a martial arts princess.

Eugene Lefeure, later Eugene McKracken, existed for a few days before starving to death on the front door step on the house. He did father two children, including one of the co-heirs of Generation Three, and helped me achieve the generation goal by having a subject class... But that was it. Ultimately, his own boringness killed him.

Martha McKracken, Peony's younger sister, was always a wildcard. A failed attempt at a snog when she was a teenager set her on a path of villainy that she excelled at... After being arrested a few times. On a family trip to France to celebrate Peony's wedding to Eugene, Martha snuck away and hooked up with a local, resulting in the birth of her only child. Her fashion sense constantly evolved as she grew older: Wednesday Addams look-a-like, Hot Topic reject, 80's goth reject, and finally JRPG villain. Despite this, her favourite item of clothing remains her bikini, even when the situation doesn't call for it.

She is also the queen of animation glitches.

Raymond McKracken (nee Gicquel) was a Frenchman minding his own business until Martha came along. After Eugeue's untimely "accidental" demise, he was called in to be the couple part of the role. A workaholic man, he got a job at the local hospital and quickly climbed up the work ladder, even though he was also absent minded and clumsy. Not the best traits for a wannabe surgeon. He may have been less boring than Eugene, but that's all I can say about him, really D:

After the Generation Three children were born, the family moved to Sunset Valley for a fresh start and to get away from the incest-pool that was Riverview at that point.

Cayleigh McKracken, the elder child of Peony, has traits from both of her parents: she's a faceclone of her mother and is as boring as her father. She had a love for music and spent her whole time in the house playing on her keyboard in her room. That's it, really :/ Sorry, Cayleigh.

Damien McKracken, the younger child of Peony, is thankfully more interesting than his sister and father. An awkward soul, he spent his childhood reading and failing to make friends. As a teenager, he found his love of fishing, and now wants to have thirteen of the little bastards in giant fish tanks. On top of fishing, Damien also tried his hand out at the martial arts skill, following in the footsteps of his mother and grandfather. He doesn't have the same "warrior royal" vibe as Peony, but he tries.

He shares the title of co-heir with his cousin, Vincent.

Because I'm selfish and not letting those genetics go to waste.

Vincent McKracken, the only child of Martha, is the other co-heir of Generation Three. He's a walking contradiction: he tries to be rebellious and daring, but spends his life repairing broken household appliances and tidying his bedroom. He also doesn't resemble his parents, leading him to believe that he was adopted. He isn't, but it looks that way. The only of the Generation Three trio to find love early on, he began dating Mortimer Goth after being childhood friends with him. He also gained a Lifetime Wish to become an astronaut. I'm not sure where it came from, but it's part of the generation roll, so sure...

The rolls for Generation Three are:

  • Full House
  • Four Children
  • Science
  • Criminal (Thief)
  • Journalism and Blogging
  • Military
  • Property Mogul
  • Runs In The Family
Help me pls

Now, onto the chapter!

Martha: Hello, son. I realise that you're still a teenager, but your father and I are moving out and leaving you with your cousin.

Vincent: Mother, why...?

With Martha and Raymond gone, the house was left to the boys. The rooms were cleared to make room for the next generation, and the boys got the main bedrooms in the house. I thought it was fitting to give them their mothers' old bedrooms. There's still plenty of space for the next generation, they'll just have to share some rooms.

Sorry

Damien got invited to a party at Cayleigh's house. I was curious as to where she was living, so I sent Damien off to stalk investigate his older sister. Vincent didn't get an invite. I wonder why >_>

Cayleigh's new house was on the outskirts of town. All I could think of was wanting to go into Build Mode and renovate it D:

Cayleigh: Booo! I didn't invite you, go home!

She is definitely Peony's daughter :/

Just like Vincent is Martha's son...

I think this exercise bar is cursed...

Speaking of Martha...

Nooo... D:

Now that the front garden is basically a graveyard, ghostly visits are a regular occurrence. I don't even react when I hear the ghostly music. Nate pops out a lot, mostly to work out in front of the TV.

He's also the one who stays out the longest. Bai and Eugene often vanish as soon as the sun comes up, but Nate lingers around for longer.

And he's here to celebrate his grandson's birthday.

Vincent: At least someone is...

Nate was around when Vincent aged into a teenager, as well. I guess that means Vincent is his favourite grandchild :D

Vincent: Hot damn :D

I like to put Vincent in a category I call "pretty boy". He has definitely inherited his large nose from Martha. Sorry...

He's gained Athletic as his final trait, which is going to be useful for the Military career.

It was at this point what I wanted to get the generation goal out the way. There was still quite a bit on money left over in the household funds, and with both boys working, it was easy enough to become a partner of three properties:

The bookshop, fitting for Damien being a bookworm;

The supermarket, because that is where Vincent worked part time as a teenager;

And the theatre, because it's next to the supermarket and bookshop, so why not complete the set?

As he was out and about purchasing these properties, Damien came across a young woman he'd talked to online. Of course, she had a case of Vanilla Face, so I gave her a bit of a makeover.

Candace: Hey, it's nice to finally meet you. Do you mind if we head inside somewhere? I didn't think it was going to snow so heavily.

Damien; Of course. Why don't we go watch a film? I can get us some free VIP seats~

Candace: Sold!

Candace: Thank you, Damien. Do you mind if we meet up again some time?

Damien: Of course not. *I've made a friend :D*

Back home, even though he didn't need to, Damien went to work on his Athletic skill.

It didn't go well.

Damien: Vinnnnnnie! I need your help please D:

Vincent: Yeah! You're doing great. Just a bit more and...

Vincent: *sigh*

Damien: help pls...

Whilst this was going on:

Eugene was still emptying the family fridge of food,

Eugene: Well, if they're not going to eat it...

The first day of the Spring Festival rolled around, so I sent Damien to the park to go fishing. He hadn't been able to go fishing for most of autumn and all of winter, so it was a good chance to catch some more fish.

He didn't even bother changing out of his athletic clothes.

He's one happy boy.

Vincent didn't even bother going out to the park.

Just like his mother.

Also at the park was Candace. The two had talked a lot since their first meeting, and were now good friends with each other.

Candace: So, you like to fish? I imagine that this time of the year is quite nice for fishing. The weather is warmer, the ponds and lakes have defrosted, the fish are biting...

Damien: Yeah, I've not been able to fish for two weeks. TWO WEEKS D:

The two continued to talk as the zombie apocalypse happened around them, until...

Damien made his move.

Stumbling over his words, Damien invited Candace back to the house to wait out the apocalypse. She, surprisingly, accepted.

Probably because she was a homeless Sim

And I'll end this chapter with Bai, meditating in his usual spot: on top of Nate's grave.

----

The first chapter of Generation Three is done! I always find that writing the first chapter for a new generation is always the most challenging. New generation rolls have to be followed, a new goal has to be worked towards, Sims have to go out and meet new people... It's always a challenge. I hope everyone is excited for what is to come, though, because four children with four adults in the house... It's going to be manic D:

See you next time!
